27 พฤษภาคม 2567 เครือเจริญโภคภัณฑ์ เข้าร่วมงานและร่วมเสวนาในหัวข้อ Whither the UN: Can Summit of the Future Save Multilateralism การประชุมสุดยอดแห่งอนาคต และอนาคตของพหุภาคีนิยม : มุมมองจากภาคส่วนที่เกี่ยวข้อง ซึ่งจัดโดยกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ เพื่อรับฟังความเห็นจากภาคส่วนต่างๆเกี่ยวกับความคาดหวังและข้อเสนอแนะต่อการดำเนินงานของสหประชาติและการต่างประเทศของไทยในอนาคตและความเห็นที่จะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อการจัดทำถ้อยแถลงของผู้แทนไทย ในการประชุม Summit of the Future ระหว่างวันที่ 22-23 กันยายน 2567 ในการประชุมสมัชชาสหประชาชาติ สมัยที่ 79 (UNGA79) ณ นครนิวยอร์ก เวทีสร้างฉันทามติใหม่ในการเตรียมความพร้อมสำหรับความท้าทายและโอกาสในอนาคต ใน 5 หัวข้อ ได้แก่ (1) Sustainable development and financing for development (2) International peace and security (3) Science, technology and innovation and digital cooperation(4) Youth and future generations และ (5) Transforming global governance
ดร.เนติธร ประดิษฐ์สาร เลขาธิการสมาคมเครือข่ายโกลบอลคอมแพ็กแห่งประเทศไทย (UN Global Compact Network Thailand: UNGCNT) และผู้ช่วยบริหาร ประธานคณะผู้บริหาร และรองกรรมการผู้จัดการอาวุโส สำนักความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศด้านความยั่งยืนและสื่อสารองค์กร บริษัท เครือเจริญโภคภัณฑ์ จำกัด กล่าวว่า ระบบพหุภาคีนิยมยุคใหม่ต้องเน้นการมีส่วนร่วมของภาคส่วนต่างๆ อาทิ ภาคเอกชน โดยเฉพาะกลุ่ม SME ภาคประชาสังคม เยาวชน ฯลฯ ในกระบวนการเจรจาและการร่วมตัดสินใจ ดร. เนติธร ฯ ยังได้เสนอต่อไปว่า ปัจจัยที่จะทำให้ไทยสามารถบรรลุเป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนคือ 1) การจัดลำดับความสำคัญของประเด็นความยั่งยืนด้วยที่มีแผนงานและตัดชี้วัดที่ชัดเจน ซึ่งจะทำให้สามารถจัดสรรทรัพยากรได้ตรงเป้ามากขึ้น 2) การส่งเสริมการนำเทคโนโลยีมาใช้ในการติดตามและรายงานผลเพื่อความโปร่งใส ลดภาระและความยุ่งยากซับซ้อน และสามารถนำไปใช้ได้กับทุกองค์กรในทุกระดับ 3) กลไกการเงินเพื่อการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนที่จะทำให้สามารถขยายผลและต่อยอดการทำงานด้านความยั่งยืนได้ และ ประเด็นสุดท้ายซึ่งสำคัญที่สุด คือ “คน” โดยเฉพาะ เยาวชน คนรุ่นใหม่ โดย ดร.เนติธรฯ ได้เชิญให้ภาคส่วนต่าง ๆ ร่วมเป็นหุ้นส่วนกับ UNGCNT เพื่อร่วมเตรียมความพร้อมให้เยาวชนไทย มีความรู้ ทักษะ และคุณธรรมและจริยธรรม ซึ่งเป็นคุณค่าที่สำคัญในการสร้างสังคมแห่งภูมิปัญญาที่ยั่งยืน
นอกจากนี้ ภายในงานยังมีผู้แทนจากหลายภาคส่วนทั้ง หน่วยงานราชการ ภาคเอกชน ภาคประชาสังคม ภาควิชาการ อาทิ นาย Guy Ryder รองเลขาธิการสหประชาชาติด้านนโยบาย, นายสีหศักดิ พวงเกตุแก้ว อดีตประธานคณะมนตรีสิทธิมนุษยชนแห่งสหประชาชาติ ศาสตราจารย์กิตติคุณ วิทิต มันตาภรณ์ ผู้รายงานพิเศษแห่งสหประชาชาติว่าด้วยสถานการณ์สิทธิมนุษยชนในประเทศกัมพูชา ม.ล. ดิศปนัดดา ดิศกุล ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่ บริหาร มูลนิธิแม่ฟ้าหลวง ในพระบรมราชูปถัมภ์ ดร.เสรี นนทสูติ สมาชิกคณะกรรมการว่าด้วยสิทธิทางเศรษฐกิจ สังคม และวัฒนธรรมภายใต้คณะมนตรีเศรษฐกิจและสังคมแห่งสหประชาชาติ ดร.ชญาวดี ชัยอนันต์ ผู้ช่วยผู้ว่าการ สายองค์กรสัมพันธ์ และโฆษกธนาคารแห่งประเทศไทย และ นายปิยะชาติ อิศรภักดี CEO Brandi and Companies เข้าร่วมให้ข้อเสนอแนะ
C.P. Group participates in the Summit for the Future and Future of Multilateralism: Perspective from Stakeholders
27 May, 2024: Charoen Pokphand Group attended the “Summit for the Future and Future of Multilateralism,” participating in a panel on the subject of “Whither the UN: Can the Summit of the Future Save Multilateralism,” hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand. This gathering provided a platform for various stakeholders to share their expectations and suggestions concerning the workings and operations of the United Nations and Thailand’s foreign affairs. The insights gathered from this summit will be used to prepare the Thai representative’s statement at the upcoming UN’s Summit of the Future, held between 22nd to 23rd September, 2024, during the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA79) in New York. The Summit aims to address future challenges and opportunities across five key areas: 1) sustainable development and financing; 2) international peace and security; 3) science, technology, innovation and digital cooperation; 4) youth and future generations and; 5) transforming global governance.
Dr. Netithorn Praditsarn, Executive Assistant to Group CEO and Senior Vice President Global Partnership for Sustainability and Communications of C.P. Group and Secretary-General of the United Nations Global Compact Network of Thailand (UNGCNT), emphasized the importance of a new multilateral system that must involve all stakeholders, including the private sector, SMEs, civil society organizations, and the youth. It is important to engage meaningfully with these stakeholders, particularly in governance and decision-making processes. In addition to this, Dr. Netithorn further proposed several key factors for Thailand to achieve its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Firstly, he emphasized the importance of prioritizing sustainability issues with clear plans and indicators to enable more efficient resource allocation. Secondly, he advocated for the use of technology for monitoring and reporting results to enhance transparency, reduce complexity, and create accessibility to all organizations at every level. This is enabled through the utilization of robust financial mechanisms that support sustainable development, enabling the successful expansion and maintenance of sustainability initiatives. Lastly, he emphasized the pivotal role of people, particularly the youth and new generations. Furthermore, Dr. Netithorn also encouraged various stakeholders to join the UNGCNT in preparing Thai youth with knowledge, skills, values, and ethics essential for building a sustainable intelligence-based society.
Apart from the Group, there were representatives from various sectors attending the event, including government agencies, the private sector, civil society, academia, and more. Notable attendees included Mr. Guy Ryder, the Under-Secretary-General for Policy of the United Nations, Dr. Suphachai Panichpakdi, the former Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and former Secretary-General of the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, the former President of the Human Rights Council, Professor Emeritus Vitit Muntabhorn, the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Cambodia, M.L. Dispannada Diskul, the Secretary-General of the Mae Fah Luang Foundation, Dr. Seree Nonthasoot, the member-elect to the Committee on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights (CESCR) of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Dr. Chayawadee Chaianan, the assistant governor of Corporate Relations of the Bank of Thailand, and Mr. Piyachart Isarabhakdee, the CEO of BRANDi and Companies.
